Such a wonderful problem; Four Seasons or Wynn/Encore?

Our short May trip (4 nights) is currently booked at Four Seasons under their $149 email offer. And I figured this was probably pretty safe from change as it includes Saturday night.

This morning my wife forwards an email from Wynn for May dates at $109, with $100 slot %26amp; $50 resort credit. And it includes our Saturday.

Her message: Such a wonderful problem. What do you want to do? Maybe we can go to a longer stay.

We%26#39;ve stayed at Wynn many times, but haven%26#39;t been to Encore yet. We%26#39;ve stayed at Mandalay Bay and THEhotel many times, but haven%26#39;t stayed at Four Seasons yet.

Location doesn%26#39;t matter, because this trip is mostly to rest and we will spend most of our trip on the grounds of either hotel.

Does Four Seasons include any ameneties that Wynn doesn%26#39;t?

I can%26#39;t remember the last time I had to choose between 2 LV hotels that I hadn%26#39;t stayed at before. I%26#39;m open for input or suggestions.

BTW: You notice they send the offers for Wynn and Four Seasons to my wife, while I get the ones from Luxor %26amp; MGM. You think these marketing people don%26#39;t know what they%26#39;re doing? lol.

Encore has suites and from the pics I%26#39;ve seen it looks quite nice. Also the rate is $129 a night which is very good for a place that just opened up.

Such a wonderful problem; Four Seasons or Wynn/Encore?

I can%26#39;t speak from experience, but the first thought I have is do you want to stay in a hotel with or without a casino? Isn%26#39;t that the difference?

Ducky: Four Seasons is on the upper floors of the Mandalay Bay towers. It is probably just as close to the casino as the West Wing rooms at MGM or the Spa Tower at Bellagio.

But it is a factor because Wynn has some playable VP while MB does not. As a matter of fact when we stay at MB, we don%26#39;t gamble there at all. So it would be the same at Four Seasons.

This trip is to rest, not to gamble. Our greatest activities will probably be a show, and maybe the meet at PH.

If we wanted to gamble we would stay off-strip, where the gambling is so much better.

Stay closer to whichever show you%26#39;ll see.

Is the tram still not working from MB to Excalibur or will you have a car?

Do you like the monorail, or a taxi for PH, from either location?

If no car, and tram is down, I go for Wynn/Encore.

ktinca, I would probably do the FS. More of different reference point. Encore and Wynn are more similar than Wynn and FS. I%26#39;d like your take. And, if you are not using the casino, FS%26#39;s service, small private pool, spa etc. are very nice. Verandah is great for breakfast too.

If relaxation is the goal, I vote for the Four Seasons. Although the Four Seasons is attached to MB, it has a separate lobby that is far removed from the slot machines and general noise from the casino floor. It makes for a very peaceful entry back to your room.

Also, MB permits the Four Seasons guests to use their facilities, but not vice versa. So you can enjoy the crowds of the MB pool, or escape to a much more serene (and smaller) Four Seasons pool area.

Underpar: Verandah for breakfast is a plus, but Wynn has Tableau so for us that%26#39;s a wash. Besides that%26#39;s only one morning, most of our breakfasts are coffee and danish by the pool.

Sarvis: The MB pool is a big factor. My wife loves the lazy river and would probably spend one of the weekday mornings there.

Personally, for convienence I would lean towards Wynn as I could go downstairs and play VP in the mornings, and play poker there while she is at the spa. I would have to leave MB for this.

But from a financial point of view, I don%26#39;t think we are ever going to see this rate from Four Seasons again, while Wynn/Encore will always be there for us.

Splitting a four night trip is not a consideration, if we were to include both hotels we would have to extend it, obviously increasing the cost.

This is her trip for Mothers Day, so she gets to decide. I just want to give her as much information as possible. Thanks for the input.

Well Ktinca...that%26#39;s what you get for asking a Ducky to help.

I am sorry but was thinking of another property, but at least you did receive some valid replies to your inquiry and sorry for not being very helpful :(
