Laughlin Day Tour

Las Veges Grand Canyon Tours are advertising Laughlin Day Tour ONLY $5 per person and includes a free Buffet Lunch. Is this a promotion thing.

Laughlin Day Tour

In the past these trips were actually free!

Basically the trips are subsidized by the Laughlin casinos. The property that%26#39;s providing the buffet will probably be the prime mover. A casino will figure that a fair proportion of a bus full of visitors will end up gambling at least a little there so it%26#39;s worth their while to run the trips.

Whether or not a Laughlin trip could work for you depends upon how much time you have in Vegas. If it%26#39;s your first time in LV there%26#39;s definitely more productive ways of spending your time. If you feel you%26#39;ve seen most of what Vegas has to offer and are looking for something different then by all means check it out.

Laughlin Day Tour

blagger, question for you then..... We%26#39;ve been to Vegas twice in last two years, we%26#39;ve done pretty much everything we like, bars, shows, casinos, hotels.... we%26#39;re heading back in August for 4 nights, this time mostly to relax and play poker, our friends rented a car and want to do a run to Laughlin for the day. Seems ok to me, but how much time exactly would you need? I don%26#39;t want to waste an entire day, (which is why I%26#39;m not interested in Grand Canyon and stuff like that)... if we head out around 9am, how long does it take to get there? Maybe spend a few hours (4 or 5), could we be back to the strip by say 6pm? Thanks

Laughlin is around 95 miles from Vegas, a straight run through empty desert. No problem leaving at 9am, checking out a few of the casinos and getting back to LV for 6pm.

Well, BoNeSaW, besides the logistics, you have to realize that Laughlin is hotter than Las Vegas and in August that translates as a scorcher. You can always take a little cruise on the Colorado River, but stay in the air conditioned cabin where you can enjoy some cool, uh, refreshment while listening to the narration and looking at the view. There%26#39;s shopping at the Horizon Mall in cool comfort too.

The walk along the river between casinos can be a challenge in the summer months, but a short stroll wouldn%26#39;t kill you if you have plenty of water.

If you want to get away from the glitz and glitter of the Strip the trip may be worth it.

I can%26#39;t imagine someone going to Vegas twice and doing everything they wanted to do-but that is just me.

I have admit that Laughlin didn%26#39;t WOW me at all. We drove and I wasn%26#39;t pleased so I can%26#39;t imagine what it must be like on a tour. I think they figure a two hour ride there, six hours at the casinos and then two hours back. If you don%26#39;t like it- tough- you are stuck until the return trip. I can think of much better ways of spending 10 hours while in Vegas.

We did it on a bus tour........ I am way to lazy to drive on vacation !

It was ok. Thats it. Just ok.

Nothing much there apart from a few %26#39;old%26#39; looking casinos and a nice river from what I can recall.

We booked the free bus tour to Laughlin when we were there for a Friday and when we returned to our room on Thursday evening there was a message on the phone that the tour was cancelled. I guess it is not so popular

I paid ten bucks to go last June but ended up getting seriously drunk and not turning up.

Was later told that morning by a wise Vegas veteran that it was the best ten bucks I had probably ever spent!

Now, now. Let%26#39;s be kind to Laughlin. If you%26#39;ve done the strip to your heart%26#39;s content, it%26#39;s nice to ride out with someone else driving, see the scenery and hear the driver describe the history (you get to see where Harry Reid came from and the church with the million dollar windows although not the windows themselves). If you like mountains, you%26#39;ll see some good ones.

Laughlin itself is a baby Las Vegas in a cowboy hat. The river is right next to the hotels and you can take a river taxi between them. Walking will be hot as blazes, but you can make it casino to casino. There%26#39;s a classic car collection. It%26#39;s relaxing just to sit and watch the reflection of the Home Depot across the river.

On the ride home you should get to see the lights of Las Vegas under the moon which is a great way to end the day.

Do not, repeat, DO NOT get back to the bus a minute later than you%26#39;ve been told to be there or you will watch it leaving without you. We%26#39;ve been twice and the first time the driver did leave without a passenger.

We go to Laughlin some times. We rent a car and go to Oatman too. Oatman is a little ';ghost town'; that has a few shops, resturants, and the main inhabintant is wild burros. They are the main attraction. I don%26#39;t think there are any tours to get there.

I would do a bus trip if I wanted to get out an see something different. The river walk is nice and the river taxies, or cruise is nice for a change of pace.

Sorry not much help. Laughlin is a tiny Vegas: I mean tiny, just a few blocks long. Interesting casinos, resturants, a few things to look at.

So depends on what you are looking for.
