I am travelling from London to Vegas the week of 7th December, can anyone tell me if there is a big event happening that week, as flights seem to be £1000 more expensive that week than dates either side?

There are two substantial conferences that week with a total of about 43,000 attendees. Even so, there are more that 140,000 rooms in Vegas, so while those conventions are pretty large, they don%26#39;t come close to stressing the room supply.
There must be some other reason that airfare is £1000 more expensive.
