Room booked, just received comp offer, what to do?

I%26#39;m sure this has been asked before, but I couldn%26#39;t find an answer.

We booked 2 nights at Treasure Island for a Sunday-Wednesday through a 3rd party (Travelocity).

Yesterday in the mail we received an offer from Treasure Island for 3 free nights, $50 free play and $25.

What should we do? Book the room just for the stuff, or call and ask if we can use it towards an upgrade?

All suggestions are welcome!

Use ';what'; towards an upgrade, I%26#39;m not sure I understand the question.

Is the Travelocity booking non-refundable? In which case I guess you%26#39;re stuck with it, and I don%26#39;t know if TI will allow you to create another booking once you already have one.

Since you play enough for a comp room offer, why use Travelocity at all? Maybe too late for this trip, but even if you don%26#39;t have an offer it%26#39;s never a bad idea to call the property and see what they can do for you before you try to book through other means.

The offer we previously had would have been more expensive with the airfare booked seperately.

I guess I was wondering if we could ask for an upgrade since we aren%26#39;t able to use the promo. ?

I don%26#39;t use 3rd parties (and you probably won%26#39;t in LV again) so this might sound silly, but can%26#39;t you cancel the Travelocity booking by paying a penalty?

Or does your package include airfare. which would make it tougher?

It includes airfare..... bummer. Booo on me for using 3rd party.

Just the question I wanted to post as of right now...thank you for posting it...I was going to book thru a 3rd party also (Expedia)..but was hesitant about it...just in case they (MGM)email me any sales or promotion and I%26#39;m not sure if I can apply those sales to an already 3rd party booking..so as of right now, I booked the room alone w/ a promo code from www.smartervegas.com...and now I%26#39;m on the look-out for low airfare...

That is unfortunate you purchased a package through Travelocity.

We always book on Southwest since the ticket is so flexible. I then watch the price regularly to see if it drops and if it does i change the reservation to get the difference credited back. Last December for a new year%26#39;s eve trip to LV, I reclaimed $150 for two tickets because the price kept dropping from my original booking in November. And now I am using that $150 to buy another Southwest ticket for my April trip.

I wish I had 3 nights comp at TI. I only got 2 nights comp + $50 free play and $25 choice play so I booked one night at Mirage on another offer of $45 + $50 free play for the Sunday.

Yes, it%26#39;s unfortunate. When you get to the point where you%26#39;re receiving offers for free rooms, you should always try to book directly. Now if you earn comps on this trip you won%26#39;t be able to use them against your room.

I guess I%26#39;d call TI and see what they%26#39;d do. If you can%26#39;t cancel and you are a gambler, rack up some more points for more offers, charge things to your room so they have something to comp for you should you earn any comps.

Let us know what you find out.

Doesn%26#39;t Travelocity have a low price guarantee?

Call them up and tell them you found a way to get the room for free.

:)
