Orleans Hotel - How overrun with kids is it?

Hopefully this doesn%26#39;t turn into ';how kids shouldn%26#39;t be in Vegas'; thread.

I got a decent rate at the Orleans for Memorial Day weekend and would just like to sit by the pool and relax. I%26#39;ve been to Vegas so much that it doesn%26#39;t matter to me if I%26#39;m right on the strip or not, but I am a bit concerned about the ';kids'; factor at the Orleans. When I%26#39;ve been there to gamble or eat I%26#39;ve never noticed them, but I wasn%26#39;t at the pool any of those times. I don%26#39;t have kids of my own so my tolerance level is fairly low (sorry). Any thoughts?

My best guess...the pool will be packed with families and kids. All day. Sorry.

Orleans Hotel - How overrun with kids is it?

During my vist there last Dec, it was not overrun whatsoever. Did not visit the Bowling Alley or Theatre areas, so cannot comment on the kid-factor there, but the rest of the hotel and casino seemed nice and quiet and non-infested with rugrats.

Orleans is a pretty good-sized place, and does not have any kid-specific attractions like CircusCircus, so it might be pretty safe.

I been 3 times and there was barely any kids at all. I think it all depends on if there is some type of event going on at the hotel.

I think someone mentioned being there during a cheerleading competition when there were tons of kids. If you are concerned call the hotel directly and ask them if they have an event sheduled during your stay.

Because Orleans is a family oriented hotel there are always more children than on the strip. But some of this is luck. They hold a really large amount of events there, like basketball tournaments, cheerleading contests, children beauty pageants etc. If you happen to hit one of these you won%26#39;t believe it. You won%26#39;t be able to turn around without running into kids %26amp; parents.

By picking a school holiday you better be prepared for the worst. And ALL families will be spending some time at the pool. So be prepared.

I didn%26#39;t get to use the pool, I stayed there in December a few years back, but I didn%26#39;t see many kids in the resort. I think at almost any pool, you will find kids, since it%26#39;s a kids area.

No more kids than any other off-strip property.

I have not noticed the East LA types that one poster is so turned off by. What%26#39;s an East LA%26#39;er look like?

Cheech or Chong?

yes kids,kids.kids

';No more kids than other off-strip properties';...oh, yes, many more...maybe CC has more, but everyone knows that...I have been there on holidays and during summer, and many kids by the pool, at the buffets and on the movie level ...doesn%26#39;t really bother me though...I was there a couple days (visiting only) on March 23 and 25 and there were many strollers...The Gold Coast seems to have very few kids...The Orleans has taken out many slots due to the Fuddrukers (or Fuddpukers) eating place...

I was there this past Monday and I didn%26#39;t really notice any kids. There were 2 kids at the breakfast buffet. Granted, in the summer months, there are more kids but they aren%26#39;t allowed on the casino floor anyway.
