So...
Seeing lots of horror stories about the current construction projects in and around the Strip.
I%26#39;m heading to Vegas in about three weeks, and one of the things that frustrates me to no end is being stuck in traffic right at the beginning of my vacation!!! I%26#39;ve done the slow crawl up the south Strip. It is not fun.
Wondering if any locals and/or recent visitors can advise on the best route or routes from the rental car facility to the Flamingo.
The last couple of times I%26#39;ve rented a car, I%26#39;ve avoided the Strip altogether by taking Warm Springs across the Strip, then hanging a right on Dean Martin / Industrial.
This was a super-easy way to get to the Rio, but it also works fairly well for properties on the east side of the Strip; this trip, I%26#39;m staying at the Flamingo, so I%26#39;d just cut over on Flamingo Road, cross the Strip, and I%26#39;d be there.
Would this work? Would there be a better alternate route? On my past couple of trips, Industrial has been a little messy behind the City Center, but traffic flows pretty smoothly.
traffic / construction alternate routes?
Paul the problem is, when one street gets crowded, many get off into the side streets.
Industial was fine on Saturday, but they%26#39;re working on that too. On Friday afternoon, Industrial was a parking lot.
traffic / construction alternate routes?
Thanks Low. I%26#39;m arriving on Sunday afternoon, maybe things won%26#39;t be so bad. Leaving early Wednesday AM, though -- sounds like I better allow some extra time.
Of course, I could just cancel my rental car and let a taxi do the driving. Food for thought.
Just got back and didn%26#39;t see any traffic problems or construction projects blocking traffic flow.
City center is starting to look more finished. Less cranes in the sky.
Paul I headed to the airport around 10am from Wynn down Paradise. No problems at that time.
Found the pics...first pic shows where traffic stopped before MGM...other two show where roadwork is at the corned of trpoicana and LV Blvd. not so crowded on Saturday, so Sunday should be fine.
