Stopping at Hoover Dam in an RV

As topic, where can I park a 25%26#39; RV at the Hoover Dam? I took a rental car into the multi storey parking area on the Nevada side of the dam about 3 years ago but I guess there is no space there for an RV. So where else can I park? 4 days to go Wooo Hoooo!!!

From the dam%26#39;s website:

';Motorhomes and other high clearance vehicles (with dimensions greater than 10.5 feet high and 23 feet long) CANNOT park in the Parking Garage and must use parking areas on the Arizona side of the dam.';

Rapid response blagger, thanks!

Do they still search vehicles prior to going over the Dam? They did back in 2007.

Yes. vehicle searches still take place, and RVs are subject to more detailed searches for obvious reasons.

Have not read the dam%26#39;s website recently. We were there last year in an oversized dually pickup truck. There is plenty of parking on the ground floor of the big garage for oversized vehicles, as that is where all the tour coaches park. *However* they do not allow RV propane cylinders in the garage - that is the problem. We happened to have our extra BBQ propane cylinder in the back, so could not park there, according to the guard at the entrance.

On the AZ side there is a lot on your left just after you cross the dam before you go up the hill. It has oversized spaces and should be fine for you as it%26#39;s not covered. I think the fee is about $8.
