How practical is public transport in LV?

We are tossing between driving to LV from LA with a toddler and a preschooler, and flying there then using public transport. I know that there are buses along the Strip that are quite cheap to save us from walking, but not sure how often they run. I don%26#39;t want to drive for 5 hours with kids in tow, but I am not sure how convenient it is without a car once there.

The duece is not a good idea for children. The bus can be over crowded at times and the second level has tricky stairs.

Whether or not you need a car depends on where you%26#39;re staying and what you want to do once you%26#39;re here.

The Deuce runs up and down the strip, but as someone else noted is slow and crowded and not really good for herding kids on and off.

You can fly from LA and rent a car in LV.
