I was just wondering about a few things. I am a first timer and my wife has been before but is pregnant this time. I have heard that the hotel at mandalay is very far off the main strip. Since we only have 2 nights would we be better stayin at the Bellagio even if the rooms seem nicer and better maintained at THEhotel at Mandalay?
Thanks
Bellagio vs THEhotel at MandalayWell im staying at theHotel at the end of May/Start June and have heard great things about it
It is at the far end of the strip but personally i dont mind walking and there is the tram that takes you to Excailbur right next to NYNY and MGM
Suppose it depends where you plan on spending your 2 evenings really if its down round centre strip then your probably better of in the bellagio especailly with the wife being pregnant and not wanting to walk far i presume??
But then i like the top end around Mandalay/Excalibur/NYNY/MGM just as much :-)
Bellagio vs THEhotel at MandalayI like the look of the Mandalay too to be honest. I have found a great rate of $85 for a huge suite. But I think the walking might be a problem. Is there just as much action that end of the suite aswell? I also like the look of the pools etc there.
I meant to say, ';that end of the Strip';
There is action at the south end of the strip........MGM, NYNY.
Bellagio is in a much better location if walking is a concern. You can walk to more places from there than from MB without having to walk tons unless you want to. Very easy to get to places like Venetian/Palazzo, Wynn, Caesar%26#39;s, Forum Shops at Caesar%26#39;s, Fashion Show Mall and the Wynn.They also have a beautiful pool area, more elegant and less crowded than the MB pool areas.
As for rooms, no Bellagio isn%26#39;t a suite hotel like THEhotel is, but the rooms are lovely. I was just there last week, my room was beautiful, no signs of wear and tear and it was spotlessly clean. There are also nice dining options there and within easy walking distance. If you want a suite, then do THEhotel, if not then consider the B.
Thanks for your response, thats what I needed. We plan to be out and about for most of the time so a suite woulnt be needed I suppose. I was just worried about reviews about the Bellagio showing wear and tear! Is the king room ok to book or is it worth the extra for the fountain view?
If you say you are going to be out and about most of the time, then don%26#39;t pay the extra for the fountain view. However, it IS nice to watch the fountains from your room (they simulcast the music on the tv).
I have always stayed at Bellagio (past 6 trips or so) and am trying out THE Hotel this time.....just to do something different.
THEhotel is much nicer than Bellagio, and not just the rooms. But I agree for this trip you would be better off at Bellagio.
Glad to hear that about THE Hotel - looking forward to a change!!
If you do decide on the bellagio, try the code BMAR25 for promotional rates. We%26#39;re paying $125 for a lakeview per night. Book on the Bellagio site
