Poker Question

I was at a pub quiz last night and the question was

';What is the maximum amount of players allowed in a game of Poker ?';

The quizmaster didn,t specify what type of poker, and it seemed that he had got the question from apub quiz book,

The answer he gave was 8,which in my opinion is too high for a game of draw poker or 7 card stud, and a lot less than what I have seen sitting around tables during texas hold em tournaments.

Can anyone give me the maximum numbers for the various types of poker?

Thanks

Poker Question

In Vegas Holdem%26#39; and omaha games are 10 player max. Stud which is not spread at that many card rooms anymore play with 8.

Poker Question

Cheers, I actually thought it was 10 for texas holdem, based on how many folk I,ve seen huddled round the tables during tournaments, definately a lot more than 8.

Not a clear question though.

On occasion I%26#39;ve played at Hold%26#39;em with 11 players in smaller casino. And it was literally a squeeze play. Of course the question was asked first to the existing 10 players if it was Ok to add one more.

If my math is correct, you could conceivably play a game of Holdem with 22 Players, granted it would be a very large, over-crowded table. Huge pots, though!

Stud and those games only seat 8 due to running out of cards.

Maybe you%26#39;ve started something new! Super-Holdem!

Draw poker was always played with 8 players. And yes, every once in a while you would have to use the discards to draw.
