Was in Vegas at the Luxor from Fri 3/27 - Mon. 3/30. What a blast us girls had!!!
Arrived to our hotel late Friday night (12am). Had no problem with check-in. We even were upgraded to tower rooms instead of pyramid rooms. Not really sure what the upgrade is, but online the tower rooms were more expensive. After we dropped our stuff off in our rooms, we headed downstairs to the casino to explore. After gambling a bit and wandering around, we were approached by a promoter from Cathouse. We had no intention or really ';going out'; that night, but decided to give it a whirl....got right in and were given free drinks. Met a group of guys with a table/bottle service, made friends with them and it turned into our home base for the night. Was lots of fun!! Closed the place down and gambled more. So much for a low key, early night.
Saturday we went to the pool. Upper 70s. Got down there around 10:30am and easily found 5 chairs together. The pool area is huge!
That night we had reservations for NOVE Italiano at The Palms on the 51st floor of the Fantasy Tower. It happened to be earth hour during our dinner. Was very cool to be able to look out over the strip in the first place, but then to see all the lights go out and come back on an hour later was pretty neat. Food and service were great at NOVE. Portions were huge and reasonably priced.
Then we headed to Ghostbar to mingle a bit. Got right in, no cover. Decided after an hour we had had enough there and made our way to Playboy CLub/Moon entrance....forget it. The mass of people was insane. We were on a guestlist, but didnt even want to deal with it.
The guys we had hung out with the night before contacted us to say they were back at Cathouse with another table. We decided to head back and join them. Why not? Again got right in and received free drinks. Their table happened to be right next to a ';super VIP'; table occupied by Criss Angel and John Lovitz. I was sitting about 5 feet away from them. That was the extent of our celebrity sightings. Again had a great time at Cathouse and closed the place down. I think the key to enjoying this lounge/club is to have a table.
Sunday we pooled it again. Upper 70s. That night we went to Social House in T.I. for sushi. Good rolls and reasonably priced. Service was so-so. We were all so exhausted from the past 2 nights that we put a nix on any ';nightlife';.
Monday we had a late flight. Checked out, stored our luggage, and walked the strip.
Was a great trip!!! I would stay at Luxor again and return to any/all of the restaurants, bars/clubs we went to.

Sounds like you had a great time. I have a couple of questions. Did you ask for the upgrade or was it just offered and did it cost you anything? Did you eat at the Cathouse or just drink? We are staying at the Luxor in June and have been offered a tower room, but I have never stayed in the Pyramid so requested a Pyramid room. The lady taking the reservation laughed when I turned down the upgrade. Did you get any pictures of the luxor rooms, pool, or Cathouse?

We were just put in a tower room without any questions asked and no, we did not have to pay for the upgrade. I did not get any pictures of the room. I think the only upgrade may be the bathroom?? There is a separate shower and spa tub.
Cathouse is a lounge/small club so I%26#39;m not sure if they even serve food. We only drank there.
I may have a couple of pictures of the pool. I will have to check.
Earth hour was Saturday night at 8:30pm I believe. You were supposed to shut your lights off during that hour to conserve energy. The strip hotels participated by turning off their outside lights.
I wonder if Criss Angel can do a magic trick and make Jon Lovitz%26#39;s career reappear?

Mr Kilowatt: A few years back my friends had a tower room and I had a pyramid room. I liked mine better. I had a view of the pool and the mountains. They had a view of rooftops. Mine was closer to the casino. They had a very long walk. I%26#39;m going again in a couple of weeks and if they offer me an upgrade to Tower I also will turn them down.
Jon Lovitz? You mean you didn%26#39;t know he was an apprentice..er, master magician? In fact he taught Criss Angel a few...every trick he knows. Yeah, that%26#39;s the ticket.
