Hotel choice for disabled AND children?

We are traveling to Vegas in Oct. for a wedding at Mandalay Bay. My mother is coming with us and uses a walker and can%26#39;t walk long distances. We have two kids under 6, also. I%26#39;m looking for a hotel that is self contained with lots of food choices, as well and not too big - so she doesn%26#39;t have to walk a mile to get to her room. She will mainly stay in the hotel while we visit with friends and sightsee. We will be renting a car, so location is not that important, but budget is! Hoping to spend less than $100 for a weekend night in October. Any suggestions?

I would recommend South Point. It%26#39;s about 5 miles south of Mandalay Bay and will be very easy to get to for your wedding.

The rooms are good-sized around 500sq ft. and very bright and airy. Plenty of family dining options, and a nice pool area for the kids. It won%26#39;t be as crowded as the strip hotels, and should be fairly easy for your Mom to navigate.

I would recommend the Platinum Hotel and Spa. The rooms are similar to one bedroom apartments with a full kitchen, living room with plasma tv, jacuzzi tub, and walk in shower. There will be plenty of space for everyone. The hotel is located just off the strip behind Bally%26#39;s. It is non gaming and non smoking so, it would be perfect for your kids.

Also look into the Tuscany just a mile east of the Strip on Flamingo Rd. Its multiple low-rise buildings are a change from the typical casino-hotel high-rise. Another difference is that you can go straight to check-in without the usual trek through the casino; that will be good for the kids.

The studio suites are rather large compared to Strip hotels: about 600 sq.ft. So there will be plenty of room for your mom to spread out. There is also a kitchenette but you%26#39;ll need to bring your own utensils. There%26#39;s a pizza-and-burger-joint, an upscale Italian restaurant, a Mexican restaurant and a coffee shop. The first two require traversing the casino while the last two are fairly close to check in.

Unless there is a(nother!) big event that October weekend, I%26#39;d wager you could possibly get a room at the Tuscany for less than $100/night. If you%26#39;re really lucky, you may still be able to enjoy the pool which, while small by Vegas standards, may still wow your kids.

Good luck!
