Flamingo Go Room Upgrade

Good Afternoon~

Going to the Flamingo in June and I cannot wait. I love the history and the Flamingo has lots of it. I wanted to upgrade to the Go Room from the regular room because I heard the old rooms are ';tired';. Have any of you heard about or have gotten an upgrade at the Flamingo for free? I saw a similar post with MGM, but I was just curious about the flamingo. I heard they treat their people well...

Flamingo Go Room Upgrade

HET has got VERY tight with the ';free'; upgrades. Unless you%26#39;re a high roller, I wouldn%26#39;t count on it.

GO rooms with pool view will generally cost you $20-40/night extra; with Strip view, probably $30-50/night additional.

I%26#39;m going in a few weeks, and if they have Strip view GO rooms available, I%26#39;ll pay the upgrade. I think they%26#39;re worth it -- of course, the base room rate is being comped, so that makes my decision a bit easier!

Flamingo Go Room Upgrade

i think paying a little more for a GO room is worth every penny.

i%26#39;ve seen the regular rooms, GO rooms, and the neopolitan suites and while the regular rooms are ';fine';... they%26#39;re nothing special at all.

the GO rooms are very ';wow'; when you walk in. everything is new, clean and slick.

i would ask to upgrade to a GO room when you check in and even if they say you have to pay an extra $20 - $40 a night, i%26#39;d do it. to me, it%26#39;s worth every penny.

I have stayed in the Go Room %26amp; the regular room. This was at least a year ago and they did make us pay for the upgrade Go Room. I think it was $40 or more a night extra. Honestly, I really like the Flamingo because it%26#39;s so easy to get around in and when you want to venture out on the strip, it%26#39;s literally right there from the casino you don%26#39;t have to walk a mile to get outside. The regular rooms are outdated but they are fine. They%26#39;re clean, and how much time do people spend in their rooms in Las Vegas anyway? If you%26#39;re looking for something really nice and updated, then get the upgrade. If you don%26#39;t care much and it%26#39;s just a place to sleep, then the regular rooms are fine.

I have to say there is something to be said for having a room with a view of the strip though. It%26#39;s entertaining all in itself to just sit %26amp; watch everything happening out there.

I could be given a bungalow in the strip and it wouldnt matter, but my wife, she wants a nice room!

Gibson - I would advise you to upgrade to a GO room at checkin, whatever it costs, just pay it. It will be worth it to keep your traveling companion in a good mood. The regular rooms *are* tired and if your wife is picky about such things she will not like them.

Depending on when you are there, there may not be any upgrades available. When we were checking in on March 18, there were people on both sides of us trying to upgrade Go rooms. Both of them were told that there were no Go rooms available, even though the people were more than willing to pay for the upgrade.

Have you booked your rooms yet? We are there next week and I booked a GO Room (3 nights) for $48 a night. I think it was through earlyvegas.com or bookit.com. The room came with a free upgrade to a GO Room and a $30 resort credit.

Previously at the Flamingo I%26#39;ve paid $55 for a regular room and $90 for a GO Room, so I thought this was a very good deal! (The GO Rooms are worth the extra)

As for how they treat people - I wouldn%26#39;t say it%26#39;s great. Last time we had paid through the hotel for a non-smoking GO Room (in advance). At check-in I was given a smoking room and told if I had a problem...next time I should check-in sooner. After that, we moved to the Mirage for the rest of the week.

I am giving them one more chance....

Hi there;

Book a GO ROOM in advance just be sure. There is a major difference in appearance and comfort not to mention location and views. It is certainly worth the extra money unless you are happy with just old, clean and basic. You will probably not be a able to upgrade at check in unless they have one available but that is rare. Enjoy.
