The routes to each are opposite directions, but you can do both in one day. Depending on traffic, it could take up to an hour to get to Las Vegas Motor Speedway, which is where Shelby is located.
And I%26#39;d hit the Shelby Museum first. They only have one factory tour at 10:30AM, and only on Mon-Fri. Not open weekends. Hoover Dam was busy no matter what time of day.
To get to Hoover, you%26#39;d pretty much have to back track through Las Vegas again. You could carry on up from Shelby Museum to Valley of Fire and drive to Hoover from there around Lake Mead, but it%26#39;s a lengthy drive (But WELL WORTH IT!).
Maybe a local could advise you better, but this is what I did before and one day was good (but it was all day). We%26#39;re going the end of April, but only for the weekend so hubby will miss his chance to see Carroll!! He%26#39;s not a happy camper. Say ';HI'; to him for us!
