September?

Is September a nice time to visit Vegas? Have been thinking of combining it with a trip to New York. Never been to either before so am excited.

September?

Still very hot in September, average highs in the upper 90%26#39;s for most of the month. Conventon business starts to pick up a bit so check the calendar to avoid busy periods.

September?

Yeah will be hot still. i would start with Vegas and then on the way home go to New york. Once you finish in New york you have a shorter flight home that way.

It%26#39;s very hot, but so nice. The hotels are, of course, air-conditioned.

Thank you all, am jumping between New York and Vegas forums and boy are you both quick off the mark!!

check www.smartervegas.com for deals on hotels.

I go every year in September. I have had it as hot as 106 and one year I swear it was in the 40%26#39;s LOL. It is hotter in the beginning and then it cools off. The casinos are always cool so it can be interesting walk outside and get blasted with heat and then go inside and freeze. Check the weather before you go and remember to drink lots of water.

Have fun.

The later you go- the more bearable the temps. At the beginning of September the average high is 99. At the end of September the average high is 88.

Sounds like a great trip - two fantastic but very different cities .

The past two years there has been Las Vegas Restaurant Week (three course, prix fixe dinners at participating restaurants for around $50) immediately following the Labor Day holiday (which is sort of the last hurrah of summer). Two years ago we were there with friends that weekend and left on the Tuesday, so we were able to take advantage of some of the restaurant deals Sunday and Monday nights. Last year we timed our vacation to take more advantage of Restaurant Week, so we were there all day on both Tuesday and Wednesday. If we hadn%26#39;t seen the difference in crowds ourselves, I don%26#39;t think we%26#39;d have believed it.

The Strip empties out from Monday to Tuesday, and by Tuesday night we had the run of the place. We amused ourselves by driving up and down the Strip in our rental car, something we%26#39;d never have attempted when all the crowds were still there. Plus we had the benefit of lower minimums for table games and easy reservations at nice restaurants.

Labor Day is September 7 this year, and while I can%26#39;t guarantee there will be another Las Vegas Restaurant Week right then, it%26#39;s probably safe to assume there will be deals of some sort that week.

I%26#39;m travelling to Vegas on the 20th September for a week. I assume the temperatures will still be nice and toasty at this time of the year?

Don%26#39;t want it to be unbearable though as we%26#39;ll obviously be doing a lot of walking!
