How does the Mirage Volcano compare to the Bellagio Fountains. Is it as magnificent as the fountains? Does music play? Does it get cancelled due to wind very often? Can you see it from the rooms at TI?
MIrage volcano
Bellagio fountains are a MUST see, even for a great many Vegas veterans.
Mirage volcano is worth seeing if you%26#39;re in the neighborhood but I wouldn%26#39;t make a special trip. It%26#39;s fun rather than magnificent.
MIrage volcano
I stayed at the Mirage in Feb and never managed to see it at street level but I can tell you that the window in our room shook when it was active.
we were on the 23-24 floor!
I haven%26#39;t seen the ';new improved'; version of the volcano but people have posted that is definitely an improvement over the old one.Of course, that is not saying much- the old one was very lame. Still- I can%26#39;t imagine it would be as magnificient as the fountains. Remember- they play many different songs and so each fountain show is different from the other ones.
I don%26#39;t think anyone can answer your question about the winds. When it is too windy -they cancel, just as they cancel the fountains and the Siren show. If it is very windy a few days in a row you may not get to see it but there is absolutely no way of predicting this in advance.
I haven%26#39;t seen the ';new and improved'; volcano either . . . but I did get a kick out of watching the old one. So hoping to catch it again this trip.
Now . . . the Bellagio fountains . . . awesome! I see as many as I can each trip.
Saw the new volcano in February - really like it - the new music is awesome!
I never saw the %26#39;old%26#39; volcano, but recently saw the new and improved display. I thought it was great, but in no way, is it ';as magnificent as the fountains';.
The new Volcano is cool to watch. I doubt I%26#39;ll go down every time to watch it like I do the fountains.
The music to the new volcano is all drums and I believe it was done by the drummer from the Grateful Dead. It is only on the hour for a couple hours each night so you need to plan to see it.
The fire shoots so high into the air - it%26#39;s really cool. The way the %26#39;fire%26#39; shoots and different pieces come up from the water is very similar to the small water/light/music show that is in the Pier at Caesars in Atlantic City.
What time is the volcano on at.
From the Mirage website: 8pm-12am. Every hour on the hour, weather permitting.
