I would take the Monte Carlo over the Luxor. Cleaner and more modern. The Luxor has had major problems with guests not enjoying their rooms. Location in the hotel of the rooms and the array of elevators to get to them is confusing. The Monte Carlo in much better between the 2.

I stayed at the Luxor last week and without ever having stayed at the Monte Carlo my pick would be: Monte Carlo! There was nothing overwhelmingly bad about the Luxor, just very average everything, and with all the competetion in Vegas I know there are many hotels that are wayy above average. The location on the Monte Carlo would be another major selling point for me. Whilst I was fine walking up to the Bellagio for the buffet, walking home with a full gut was a different story and we ended up cabbing it :).

Luxor has been steadily degrading. Monte Carlo has some new rennovated rooms at great rates during the week.. I%26#39;d go with Monte Carlo.

I%26#39;ve stayed at both and I prefer Monte Carlo%26#39;s rooms to Luxor%26#39;s rooms (too DARK!), but I prefer Luxor%26#39;s casino to Monte Carlo%26#39;s casino.

As for restaurants, I thought Luxor%26#39;s buffet was quite good (however, I remember it being AWFUL a few years ago) but Monte Carlo does have that pub, which I really like.

Tough call!

Without a doubt, Luxor...This will be our 6th time there we love the place..

i like the luxor. i didnt find the rooms dark at all. and it wasnt filthy either. so it has some stains on carpets or whatnot it%26#39;s a freakin hotel people go and barf in every hotel room. there are bound to be stained carpets in most hotel rooms. If you want strip convienience go with monte carlo but recently i have heard some complaints of construction noises waking people up. I think Luxor is a nice hotel but maybe not the best place if you want to be close to action on the strip. I will continue to stay at Luxor though.

I%26#39;ve only stayed at luxor and enjoyed the stay. Rooms are fine. You don%26#39;t go to Vegas to hang out in your room. I stayed in the tower so I did not encounter confusing elevator issues.

Don%26#39;t know your age group, but I think it attracts the 20-30 somethings more so than an older crowd.

I%26#39;ve heard the pool at luxor is better but that%26#39;s just hearsay cuz like I said I have never stayed at MC.
