Ok, folks. PLEASE help me out here. Background...50ish couple, getting married in Vegas in July. Love the pool, BJ and slots. Been to Vegas many times before.
So, here%26#39;s the deal. I had a GO room at the Flamingo booked for our first 5 nights. I changed that to a Mirage Suite for $120 per night.
NOW, I get an offer from MGM....$85 a night for a Celebrity Spa Suite. We%26#39;ve never stayed at either property before, so I%26#39;m looking for opinions of people who have. Honestly, I%26#39;ve always wanted to stay at Mirage, but I%26#39;ve read so much good stuff on here about MGM that I%26#39;m torn between saving about $200 over 5 nights, or staying at the place I%26#39;ve always wanted. Either way, there%26#39;s always next time! :)
Catch...we%26#39;re bringing 2 friends with us who are booked at Mirage in a deluxe room, but can get them a deluxe at MGM for just a little less, so that%26#39;ll work, IF enough experienced people think the MGM is a better deal.
Thanks so much in advance for ANY opinions/advice you can offer.

ANOTHER hotel switch????
Celebrity Spa Suite for $85 per night is a fabulous deal IMHO. I%26#39;d stay there for sure. Some folks feel that MGM is too big, but honey bun and I loved it. You definitely have an ';all in one'; location, along with the monorail to be able to quickly explore the other strip properties!
Good luck - we%26#39;re getting married in May so big CONGRATS to you and yours.

ANOTHER hotel switch????
Thank you, Sheila! Same right back atcha! :)
Can you tell me anything about the pool complex? I%26#39;ve seen parts of the Mirage pool, and that%26#39;s a big part of the reason I%26#39;ve always wanted to stay there, it just looks so nice. I should probably check out their website and see if they have any pics.
Tipsie - You have two good deals and two good properties to choose from. I would say the only advantage of the Celebrity Spa Suite is the better jacuzzi. If that%26#39;s not a big priority, then I%26#39;d stick with the Mirage Suite.
Did you say JACUZZI???? In the ROOM??? To be honest, I didn%26#39;t look too close at what the room had. I noticed it was a bit smaller than the Mirage Suite, but really, who is in the room all that much anyway? And both rooms are quite large. The Mirage Suite is 812 sq. ft, and the MGM is 625 or something. I believe that%26#39;s correct. Anyway, we just want to splurge a little since this is our wedding/honeymoon. We do really enjoy an in-room jacuzzi, but it%26#39;s not an absolute necessity. I%26#39;m looking at the differences in the pool situation..comparisons? Good/bad? Also, I feel Mirage is in a better location, and our 2 friends are Vegas Virgins, so we%26#39;re keeping them in mind as well.
I realize we won%26#39;t go wrong no matter which property we choose, I%26#39;m just looking at opinions of one vs the other.
Thanks so far! :)
Tips
Have stayed at the MGM. The Spa tub was a corner tub with room for 2. The bathroom was huge with a seperate shower. Only issue was the tile floor got real slippery when wet.
';Honestly, I%26#39;ve always wanted to stay at Mirage'; So what has changed?
You%26#39;ve been to Vegas many times, but this time you are getting married and want this trip to be memorable.
';I%26#39;ve always wanted to stay at Mirage';.
I%26#39;m sorry, you gave us the answer, but what was your question?
Tips,
The pools at both Mirage and MGM are among the best on the Strip. MGM%26#39;s pool complex is much larger and more elaborate, but the Mirage pool is lovely and has a nice tropical feel to it.
Given the interest you%26#39;ve already expressed in staying at Mirage, I suggest you do so. It%26#39;s your anniversary, celebrate in style. You will have opportunities to try the MGM suite on future trips, they are not all that expensive.
OK...Despite the fact that the MGM is a great deal...
You are getting married and have always wanted to stay at the Mirage.
Don%26#39;t worry about saving $200 when it%26#39;s your wedding!!!
It%26#39;s $40 a night....seriously, unless you need the cash really badly, don%26#39;t start off your married life by being cheap!
Have a great wedding and stay at the place you have always wanted to. The MGM will still be there for your next visit.
cheers
shirl%26#39;
LOL, Shirl! ';Don%26#39;t start off your marriage by being cheap!'; Ok, I get the point!
Actually, the money wasn%26#39;t the concern. I just LOVE getting a great deal (does anyone NOT?), and even tho $120 a night I think is a great rate for the Mirage Suite, the $85 at MGM sounded better. I%26#39;ve wanted to stay at both properties, but Mirage has always been the one I wanted to stay at. Every time we go to Vegas, I book a room there, but then a better opportunity presents itself, and we switch to that. Not necessarily a CHEAPER opportunity, mind you.
One time I was booked in a deluxe room at Mirage for $99 a night. Then I got an offer from Bellagio for $149 a night. We went with the B, knowing that was a good deal at that time. We weren%26#39;t sorry, the B is GORGEOUS! So that%26#39;s where I%26#39;m coming from.
Anyway, you%26#39;ve all talked me into it, and I guess I should have seen the writing on the wall. The Mirage it is!
Thanks for all your input.
